1. Scope and responsible party
This policy covers www.downloady.org, the Downloady application, Chrome and Firefox extensions, and Downloady Bridge. Downloady is developed by Lý Quí Chung of 56KGen. The responsible party for processing within our website and services is Lý Quí Chung / 56KGen. Privacy contact: [email protected].
2. Data processed on your device
The app may store download URLs, filenames, save paths, temporary files, sizes, progress, status, start times, categories, queues, schedules, appearance and language settings, network preferences, required credentials, cookies or headers, and a thank-you code or display name if used.
This data supports download management, resume, schedules and preferences. Downloady 1.0 does not sync download history or files to a Downloady cloud account.
3. Data processed by browser extensions
To detect resources and send downloads to the app, extensions may process page and resource URLs; filenames, content types, sizes and quality; network requests and responses; page data related to audio or video; cookies associated with download URLs; referrer information; playback session data needed for compatible streaming sources; and errors used to display status or diagnose connections.
Downloady Bridge passes required requests to the application on the same computer. The application may send authentication data to the source server to perform your download. This processing serves download functionality. The app and extensions do not currently include advertising or automatic telemetry that sends usage history to 56KGen.
4. Download sources
Files normally transfer directly from the source server or its CDN, or through a proxy you configure. File content is not routed through Downloady servers for storage or redistribution.
Source servers, CDNs and proxies may receive your IP address, request information and required authentication data under their own policies. URLs can contain access tokens or sensitive data. Consider this before sharing URLs, history or configuration files.
5. Update checks
When you request an update check, Downloady connects to our update server. The server and infrastructure providers may receive your IP address, request time, requested path and app identification, including version.
Downloady 1.0 update checks do not send your download list, browser cookies, passwords or downloaded file contents.
6. Website and support data
Hosting and CDN systems may process your IP address, browser information, request time and path, response status and security-related data. If you contact support, we use the name, email, message and attachments you provide to respond and handle the request.
Do not send passwords, login cookies, access tokens or unnecessary data. Redact credentials embedded in URLs before sending them.
The website sets no application cookies and has no advertising, account forms or custom analytics code. The light/dark preference is stored in browser localStorage under downloady.theme and can be removed by clearing site data. Cloudflare CDN and website protection infrastructure may process technical data or use their own protection mechanisms.
7. Donation-related data
The Donate page lets you select an amount and then opens PayPal to process payment. The website receives no card information. Separate donation channels process transactions under their own terms. A thank-you code may contain a readable display name. Its signature authenticates the issuer; it does not encrypt identity. Donating does not give us access to your download history or files.
8. Sharing and infrastructure
We do not sell personal data or use download data to build advertising profiles. Hosting and Cloudflare CDN providers may process connection information needed to deliver resources, protect the website and diagnose errors. Email systems process messages you voluntarily send to [email protected] so we can receive and answer them.
Data may be processed to meet lawful requirements or protect user rights and safety under applicable law. Files downloaded by the app are not sent to Downloady's website servers.
9. Retention
- App history and settings remain on your device until you change or delete them.
- Downloaded files remain in the location you choose, under your control.
- Extension resource lists are temporary within the browser session; some data is cleared when tabs change or close.
- Extension preferences remain until reset, removal or clearing of extension data.
- Website appearance preferences remain until site data is cleared.
- The website server has no dedicated access log. Technical error logs, if present, rotate daily with up to 14 daily files. The CDN has its own retention policy.
- Support correspondence is used for as long as needed to handle the request or meet legal obligations. You may request deletion where appropriate.
10. Your choices
You can disable download integration, change file types and site permissions, configure exclusions, disable or remove the browser extension, delete download records, optionally delete downloaded files through the confirmation dialog, and remove saved credentials or local settings. You decide whether to check for updates or contact support.
Closing the main window may only minimize the app to the system tray. Use Exit in the tray menu to stop it completely. Removing the app or extension does not automatically remove all downloaded files or remaining local data.
11. Data protection
Downloady uses Windows protection tied to your Windows account for locally stored credentials. This does not mean that all history or downloaded files are encrypted.
We apply safeguards appropriate to our services, but no transmission or storage method is completely secure. Protect your device, Windows account and backups. HTTP downloads do not provide the same transport protection as HTTPS.
12. Personal data rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or a copy of personal data we manage. Send requests to [email protected]. Appropriate identity verification may be required.
We cannot remotely access history or files held only on your device. Manage and delete that data on your computer.
13. Policy changes
We may update this policy when the product or data processing changes. The updated policy will appear here with its effective date. We will provide notices or seek renewed consent where required by applicable law.
